The British Legion one of the country’s largest membership organisations, with over 450,000 members nationwide. Members get together through the network of clubs and branches all over the country, and can become involved in the welfare and fundraising work of the Legion.

The organisation welcomes men and women of all ages, whether they have served in the Armed Forces or not.

The Chappel, Wakes Colne & District branch of the British Legion meets once a month at various locations in the villages.  It meets on the second Monday of every month at 2.00pm.  For more details, get in touch with Valerie Sayer on 01206 240328, who will let you know where they’re getting together.

The branch also organises the annual poppy appeal in the village with collection boxes placed in both the Post Office and the Swan.  They also organise a house-to-house collection.
