Do you wish people wouldn’t use Chappel as a race track?
Are you fed up with speeding cars?

Chappel and Wakes Colne have a Community Speed Watch partnership and we need volunteers.

The Speedwatch partnership have a Police approved speed gun and feed data back to the police force on speeding vehicles. If a problem vehicle is noted in the data on a regular basis or at really excessive speed the police will target that owner and see if they can do something to help us. The volunteers will man selected positions during daylight hours and run a speed check. It is amazingly effective and the sight of a speed gun slows down nearly every driver.

If you volunteer you will be given training in the use of the speed gun and the procedures to follow. Each volunteer only gives what time they can and of course the more volunteers we can raise, the less time you might need to give!

Please join the team and make our village a safer place to live.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact the Clerk: parishclerk@chappel.org
